Second Chef - Country Pub / Restaurant
Our client is looking for an experienced Second Chef to join their team and support the Head Chef in all areas of their operation including restaurant food, events, bbq’s and Hog Roasts (some off site).
This newly refurbished country pub in the village of Titchmarsh, Northamptonshire prides itself on locally sourced ingredients and good honest food. They are looking for an ambitious chef with excellent cooking and management skills who can run the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef. The successful applicant for this role will deliver excellent customer service, have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, be willing to learn and show that they care.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who needs to be passionate about great seasonal ingredients, bring creative energy, stamina & inspiration. A Team Player who does not shy away from all aspects of kitchen duties including pot washing and placing orders when required. As a the Second Chef you must communicate well with others, able to pay close attention to detail and will commit to providing outstanding service, as well as ensuring the 5 Star kitchen hygiene rating is maintained.
Your Experience will ideally consist of:
• 3+ yrs at CDP / Sous Chef level in a fresh food environment and busy kitchen
• Solid understanding of GP and keeping wastage to a minimum
• Pro-active and flexible approach to work duties
• Food Hygiene Level 2
• Good team player
• Willingness to learn and develop
Job Type: Full Time / Part Time The Head Chef is away Wednesday's & Sunday’s and these shifts must be covered. At least one weekend off per month
Salary: £19,000 - £25,000 / Annual - up to 45 hours per week
Education: GCSE or equivalent (Preferred)
Licence: Driving License (Preferred due to location)
