The link between low income and low academic attainment is greater in the UK than almost any other developed nation. Children eligible for free school meals are less likely to get good GCSEs and go on to higher education. This makes it more likely they will struggle throughout their lives, widening social inequality. It’s a cycle that we’re determined to break.

The Senior Legal Adviser manages legal relationships and processes at Teach First. Reporting to the Director of Governance, Legal and Compliance, the Senior Legal Adviser will add strategic and commercial value to Teach First by advising on internal legal risk management and carrying out a wide range of legal work on behalf of the charity, including advice on contract law, intellectual property, employment and data protection.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the charity’s approach to managing its contractual relationships with stakeholders, including higher education institutions, schools, grant-making organisations, corporate

supporters, service providers, independent consultants, employees, partner organisations and social enterprises.

We are looking for an excellent lawyer to join us on part-time basis with a working pattern of Wednesday – Friday. Working within the Governance, Legal and Compliance team, the ideal candidate will be approachable, adaptable and able to manage his/ her own workload with minimal supervision.  This is a fantastic opportunity to be responsible for a variety of legal issues in support of the charity.

The day when no child’s future is limited by their background is coming, yet, there is still more to be done. Join us and help us ensure every child in the UK has a fair shot at their ambitions.
