Our clientis a not for profit organisation, they have been commissioned by Flintshire County Council to provide a new Community Enrichment & Transport Service which is part of a wider Community Disability Support Service.

Position: Support Worker / Community Enabler

Location: Flintshire, North Wales

Salary: £9.00 per hour

Hours: Part time position 30 hours per week OR part time position 16 hours per week

About the role:

As a Support Worker / Community Enabler you will engage with adults and children with disabilities, you will work with individuals to recognise and harness their strengths, resources and skills. You will provide information and advice regarding local transport and facilitate training for safe and equal access to transport.

You will offer advice, resources, practical training and support to help adults and children with disabilities to establish and sustain projects and initiatives. As well as information and guidance relating to funding streams and fundraising opportunities to support the growth of active and sustainable communities.

About you:

To be successful in the role of Support Worker / Community Enabler you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Flexible and enthusiastic, with a common-sense approach.
  • An understanding of the needs of vulnerable adults and experience in a relevant area.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people, including service users, their families, staff, volunteers and professionals.
  • Willing to try new activities and be open to challenge
  • Ability to plan and prioritise your own workload
  • Good IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • A commitment to the values, aims and objectives of our client
  • Must have a driving license and a vehicle for this role

Although not essential, the ability to speak Welsh would be highly desirable.
