Would you like to finish work each day knowing that you have made a difference?
We are looking for an engaging, positive and caring Support Worker to join our Leighton Buzzard service where we support a number of individuals with a learning disability.
We have a part-time opportunity available for 30 hours per week on a permanent basis.
So what does our service in Leighton Buzzard look like?
The first thing that you should know is that the people that we support here have an incredible social life, so we're looking for someone who isn't afraid to look at what's going on in the area and actively encourage the people that we support to get involved and make plans. In this service we love day trips to the seaside, days out to London, theatre trips, disco's, cinema days, coach trips and parties.
The team work really well together in this service and you will have support settling into your role from a really strong staff team, not only that, the people that we support will make you feel welcome and are excited to meet the new person that will be supporting them.
As a Support Worker you will not only support these individuals with all of the things they want support with, but also the things they need support with too which means; support with medication, accessing the community, medical appointments, supporting with finances, and independent living skills as well.
This post is based in Leighton Buzzard and we do have a few people that we support who live independently, so you may be travelling between a couple of homes to deliver support hours - however a driving licence isn't essential (although is preferred).
You do not need to have experience but it is essential that you share our values. As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us.
Support workers must be flexible in the hours they can work, as support can be required 24 hours a day. You will work on a rota basis throughout the week, weekends and bank holidays with sleep-ins (Sleep ins are compliant and in line with national living wage).
