Shop Assistant required
Salary – hourly rate - £6.15 - £8.21 per hour
Location – Frinton-On-Sea, Essex & Prettygate, Colchester, Essex
Full time & Part time positions avaliable
We are hiring an enthusiastic, hard-working, can-do attitude, realiable team member to join us in our charity shops. Some DIY and creative skills would be an advantage but not essential.
It IS essential to be an animal lover and to have a great sense of humour.
Main duties/responsibilities:
* Ensuring that all donated goods are accepted in a positive manner
* ensuring that the pet-related new goods and other new goods are promoted and well displayed.
* Handl;ing of money and till work
* ensuring that all merchandise offered for sale is sorted, clean, tagged, steamed & presented to a high standard at the right price.
* Ensuring compliance with trading standard regulations
* Co-ordinationg the work of shop volunteers
* Work positivly towards realistic sales targets as set by the manager
* Implementing ana maintaining a stock control and rotation system
* Ensuring till is operated to a 100% accuracy
* Supervising handling of all cash, records and banking on a daily basis to 100% accuracy
* Maintaining a high standard of presentation in all window and in-store displays
* Ensuring that all displays are regulary changed.
* Ensuring customers are dealt with in a polite and coureous manner
* Ensuring that telephone enquieries are dealt with in apolite and courteous manner and that messages are taken accurately and passed on to the relevant person.
* Maintaining a friendly and positive atmosphere that is welcoming to customers
* Ensuring the shop premises are clean, tidy and secure at all times
* Ensuring that fire regulations and Health & safety guidelines are complied with.
* Clean driving license to be able to move stock between shop premises
* Any other duties that are reasonable and may be required by the manager
