LawWorks (the Solicitors Pro Bono Group) is a charity which enables access to justice by encouraging and supporting legal pro bono in England and Wales. We work primarily with solicitors, law schools and law students, and other legal and non-legal volunteers and organisations.

Solicitor (employment law) - part time

21 hours - £21,957 (equivalent to £36,595 f/t) plus 5% pension.

This position provides an exciting opportunity to join a respected charity working to enable access to justice.

In addition to supporting a network of over 260 independent pro bono clinics (in England and Wales) and connecting charities with free legal advice, we also support pro bono solicitors to provide more 'in-depth' or specialised pro bono (sometimes called ‘secondary specialisation’).

We are looking for a qualified solicitor (minimum two years’ PQE) with experience in employment law (joining two other part-time solicitors working on other pro bono projects).

You will lead on overseeing referrals and supervising pro bono solicitors from member law firms and In-house teams, on employment law cases, specifically unpaid wages and unlawful deduction matters. The role also includes (working with our Policy & External Affairs Team) supporting the development of training for pro bono volunteers.

The ability to work collaboratively and build and maintain relationships will be key.

We would consider applications for a secondment.

We are a busy and (for our size) complex charity, with a friendly team, a positive ethos and a commitment to doing all we can to ensure that LawWorks is a strong and efficient organisation and a great place to work.

More information about the role and how to apply is available on the LawWorks website.

The deadline for applications is 10.00am on Monday 9 September.

We encourage applications as soon as possible and may interview applicants before the deadline.

LawWorks is an equal opportunities employer. We encourage applications irrespective of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
