Job description

Within this role you will manage the people processes for the Information & Technology (I & T) Transformation Programme effectively and efficiently within desired timeframes, ensuring compliance at all stages of the process with any relevant legislation and the Civil Service Recruitment Principles. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to come in at the beginning of the programme and really make a difference by shaping the team around you that can successfully deliver our desired objectives. 

Within your role you will: 

• Manage all recruitment campaign interactions with DfT Resourcing Group (DRG) and the Government Recruitment Service (GRS) to ensure campaign requirements are delivered on time and to the required standard; 
• Use your expertise to ensure progress of the I & T change programme while still maintaining internal governance and quality standards; 
• Provide advice and guidance to the wider business on all aspects of staff moves, recruitment campaigns and the effective use of Success Profile based recruitment procedures, this includes assessment design, coordination of sifts and assessments, allocation of results and management of the onboarding process; 
• Actively manage any direct reports and ensure work is completed to the correct standards and within agreed timescales; 
• Work across HR to ensure progress of the interacting people requirements, including (but not limited to) the role of capability skills assessments in redeployment, leadership and assessment design; 
• Champion HR best practice and support/encourage the personal development of your team.

Responsibilities

You will have experience of working within a Human Resource environment, with a particular emphasis on recruitment and best practice across different employment sectors. You will have experience of successfully leading on change programmes and developing a team to meet business objectives. 

You will be a proactive self-starter who wants to hit the ground running and make a real impact within MCA. You will be well organised with excellent IT skills, and the ability to manage multiple (and often conflicting) priorities on time and to a high standard.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is an executive agency of the United Kingdom working to prevent the loss of lives at sea and is responsible for implementing British and international maritime law and safety policy. It is also responsible for land based search and rescue helicopter operations from 2015.
