Royal Voluntary Service is an innovative charity that focuses on inspiring people to give the gift of voluntary service to support the NHS and older people at home and in the community. We are now looking for a Co-ordinator to join us in Stoke-on-Trent on a fixed term contract until the 31st March 2020.

If you’re an enthusiastic and highly organised individual with experience of working with volunteers and supporting and motivating them on a daily basis, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow and advance your career with our outstanding national charity.

Playing a key role in the delivery of a superb service, you’ll ensure that people who have been in hospital can find friendly faces, helping hands and an attentive ear to help them back into their lives.

What’s more, you’ll discover a great team of professionals and volunteers all driving towards the same goal of providing incredible support to the people of Stoke-on-Trent.

As a Co-ordinator, you will responsible for co-ordinating the Supporting Your Recovery service.

The Supporting Your Recovery service assists hospital patients on wards and for a period after they are discharged. The aim of the service is to reduce recovery times and readmission to hospital, as well as helping patients reconnect with their communities and minimising feelings of loneliness and isolation.

Reporting to the Service Manager, your role will also involve:

- Meeting and talking with clients to assess and review their needs
- Ensuring volunteer activities are effectively co-ordinated on a day-to-day basis
- Supporting the recruitment and training of volunteers
- Helping to grow and service and increase uptake
- Ensuring all data is recorded in line with organisational standards

To be considered you will need:

- Experience of working with volunteers and supporting and motivating them on a daily basis
- Previous experience of handling personal information and the legal requirements of this
- Knowledge and understanding of volunteers and voluntary services

As a Co-ordinator, you will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to build effective relationships and motivate others and an empathetic approach.

This is a full time role, working 35 hours per week Monday – Friday. Part time or job share hours will be considered for the right candidate.

The closing date for applications is the 16th August 2019. Interviews are expected to be held on the 4th September 2019 in Stoke-on-Trent.
