The Role

Sitting as part of Investments, our Work Winning Services team (WWS) provide bid support services to all Amey business units, from Highways, Rail and Consulting, to Environmental Services and Facilities Management, Defence and Justice. We are looking to appoint a Document Architect to join our team of talented bid professionals. Reporting to the Proposals Manager, you will work with the Amey Business Unit Bid Coordinators and Bid Managers to ensure their bids align to internal approvals and governance processes and the Amey bid process. Coordinating with all WWS disciplines including bid writing and design; you will apply conceptual thinking to the style, formatting and design of submissions to ensure consistency, quality and compliance. You will promote best practice bidding principles, ensure the Amey brand is reflected appropriately, and present our bid content so it achieves maximum evaluation scores.

Responsibilities

As Document Architect, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing document formatting expertise for Amey bids, ensuring documents are compliant, neat/professional and easy to navigate
  • Working with bid teams to develop bespoke, professional submission templates, including bid response templates and CVs
  • Managing a bid deliverable tracker and supporting with document management
  • Implementing and maintaining document management processes and version control of bid documents
  • Monitoring the overall bid production quality, ensuring quality processes are followed to produce high scoring documents.

Person Requirements

  • Robust knowledge or advanced MS Word, especially within the styles, formatting and template creation area of MS Word or would be willing to undergo on-the-job training
  • Background or proven experience in project planing, PA/Secretarial, Publishing, Bidding, Marketing Coordination or Document control
  • Possess knowledge of macro-enabled template creation/use of (advantageous)
  • Proficient in other MS Office packages eg Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Good interpersonal skills with confidence to challenge and escalate issues appropriately
  • Strong time and project management skills with ability to prioritise
  • Confidence in your verbal and written communication - to liaise at all levels to support development of well-written bid content
  • The flexibility to be able to work outside normal working hours, and across UK locations, when bid team and timetable requires it.
