An opportunity to work within our Infrastructure and Real Assets team during an exciting time  as our business is thriving and generating opportunities across all divisions. Our team originates opportunities to deploy capital in all sectors of infrastructure and manages investments already made.

As a Business Analyst/Executive, you will be able to assist with managing our portfolio of assets and with the execution of new investment opportunities, refinancing and fundraising tasks. You will work with senior and portfolio executives to pursue transaction opportunities, creating and executing strategic initiatives both internally and within portfolio companies. You will have the opportunity to support the development and refining of their business plans and strategy, including identifying and delivering operational and financial improvements within portfolio companies.

You will also execute and lead detailed financial and valuation analysis of portfolio companies and transactions, build and review financial models as necessary, and oversee financial model development of more junior members in the team.

Working with portfolio company senior management, you will measure and monitor the financial and operational performance and strategic direction of those companies, identify and execute M&A transactions (both new acquisitions and bolt-on acquisitions for portfolio companies), execute financing transactions and manage junior team members, including being responsible for their learning and development.

If you have at least 1-year M&A execution experience within an investment bank or an infrastructure fund, knowledge of global funds management, investment banking or strategy consulting and strong financial modelling skills, then we want to hear from you.

You will need to hold a Bachelors degree, preferably in commerce, economics, Law or a STEM field, and be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of financial accounting, corporate finance and business reporting. Any knowledge and experience you have in the infrastructure sector will be favourably regarded.

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.

Because of this, our commitment to you is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or cultural background.

We make this commitment not only because it is the right thing to do but it opens up a world of opportunity, securing the future of our people, our success and our business
