An Adult (18-65) Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) based in central Newcastle requires a Mental Health Nurse for a period of at least 3-4 months and can offer a range of benefits to the successful candidate. This role would be a great step for a Mental Health Nurse seeking a challenging but rewarding role, and the chance to hone their skills working with individuals who require mental health support in a community based setting.

The job involves working as part of a large, busy CMHT and working with clients who have a wide range of mental health problems, often with elements of dual diagnosis where there may be a learning disability of substance misuse issue. The role will involve managing a caseload of individuals in the Newcastle area, putting together bespoke care plans for them and delivering a range of treatments to those patients.

- Complete flexibility on working hours - part time (min 15hrs) or full time (37.5hrs per week) between Monday-Friday.

As a Mental Health Nurse within this CMHT, you will be responsible for:

- Carrying out assessments on clients who have been referred to the service
- Participating in the weekly MDT meeting
- Working with a caseload of patients who may have conditions including depression, severe anxiety, schizo-affective disorders, bipolar etc
- Updating patient notes using the clinical recording system (RiO) and keeping an electronic diary in adherence to lone working policies
- Delivering treatment to patients including CBT work, stabilisation work, emotional regulation work etc
- Meeting with patients in their own home and running clinics, if required.

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate:
- Registered Mental Health Nurse
- An understanding of how CMHTs operate would be beneficial but is not essential
- Valid NMC registration
- Ability to work well as part of a team and take the lead when needed.
