Job Details

We know the corporate world can sometimes feel like you are expected to be just like everybody else – however you are an individual and we like that.

Location: London

Start Date: November 2019

Programme: 20-week Returner Programme

Own your future

The best investment you can make is in yourself.  At Macquarie, their people are their greatest asset. For this reason, they are committed to providing opportunities that help you reach your potential – as a Returner, you will be an integral part of the team from day one.

You will work full-time over the 20-week programme, gaining valuable experience and insight into your business area. Working closely with the team will enable you to bring your experience and skills to real, live, projects and strategic initiatives right from day one.

As part of the programme you will also gain exposure to the wider Macquarie business and senior leaders via events and lunches. Coaching from a specialist in Returner programmes, a mentor and a buddy will all provide additional support and guidance for your return to work. To enable you to focus on re-building your career they will also provide access to free emergency child and elder care to help you manage any commitments you may have outside of the workplace.

What are they looking for?

The following business groups are available on the Returner Programme in 2019:

Revenue generating groups

  • Commodities and Global Markets (Commodity Markets, Fixed Income and Currencies, Equity Derivatives & Trading, Marketing & Communications, Business Operational Risk)

Support functions:

  • Risk Management Group (Audit)
  • Financial Management Group (Finance, Treasury & Taxation)

Applications are encouraged from individuals with relevant backgrounds but also those with transferable skills, such as legal, business management and technical IT. You will be highly motivated to return to work and contribute to the core activities of your business.

Please select the business area of most interest and relevance. If none of these business areas match your background but you are keen to apply, then please select ‘general application’ and your background will be reviewed against other potential roles in the programme.

All applicants must have had a career break of at least 2 years and be able to commit to a 20-week programme, commencing November 2019. The programme is full time, but Macquarie facilitates a range of flexible working arrangements within their teams. Talk to them about what flexibility may be available.

Company

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.

Because of this, our commitment to you is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or cultural background.

We make this commitment not only because it is the right thing to do but it opens up a world of opportunity, securing the future of our people, our success and our business
