Role Overview

At Amey we're proud to deliver one of the UK's largest local government highways partnerships with Sheffield. As part of our Streets Ahead programme we provide footway and carriageway repair and maintenance works across the city as well as street cleaning and winter maintenance.

We're looking for a proactive Commercial Administrator or Assistant QS to join our team supporting our lifetime investment programme package of works that manages the maintenance of Sheffield City carriageway network. Reporting into the Principal Commercial Manager you will work alongside a QS and a Senior QS to deliver a variety of commercial activity and ensure best practice.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with supply chain partners and subcontractors
  • Ensuring prompt submission of invoices and applications for payment
  • Preparing financial statements
  • Contributing to the formulation of the monthly financial reports
  • Ensuring proper administration of the Contract requirements
  • Assisting with the business development process in producing information for PQQs and Tenders in relation to the project deliverable
  • Completing measurements of works



What are we looking for?

This role would suit a proactive individual looking to grow their commercial career. You should be able to demonstrate an interest in or previous experience within a commercial function. A previous role in commercial or financial administration, or as an Assistant QS/ QS would be ideal. A degree is not required though a qualification in a relevant subject would be also be extremely beneficial.
