The Local Government Association (LGA) is the national voice of local government. We work with councils to support, promote and improve local government.

We are a politically-led, cross-party organisation which works on behalf of councils to ensure local government has a strong, credible voice with national government. We aim to influence and set the political agenda on the issues that matter to councils so they are able to deliver local solutions to national problems; as well as support local authorities with their own self-improvement.

The role and requirements

The LGA works to influence government policy and support councils to deliver effectively for their communities.

The Research and Information Team is looking for two Data Analysts who can design and deliver research, and data and analytic services. The successful post-holders will be a key part of the team that delivers evidence for the LGA’s policy development, support and lobbying work, and delivers our LG Inform data service to authorities. Our work is widely used within the organisation and often features in the media.

It’s essential that you have excellent quantitative skills, and are confident working with data.  We are particularly looking for candidates who have good economic, econometric or data modelling skills and/or experience of working with financial data. We are looking for team players with good organisational abilities. 

The successful candidates can expect to take on a very varied and wide-ranging portfolio of work that supports and promotes local authorities and helps them to self-improve.
