Our Kinship and Fostering team have started a journey this past year and would like you to consider lending your talents to help us gain further momentum. The feedback we often receive from our carers is very positive and we wish to roll out more new exciting developments e.g. emergency carer scheme, therapeutic assessment carer scheme, Branches group for carers own children.

 What we are doing for our social workers:

  • Working patterns to fit for your life and commitments. Apply for either full time (37 hours) or part time role (hours to be agreed). We also offer flexible working options from across Wiltshire including working from home and full-time hours over a compressed fortnight.
  • Provide free parking in the locality of most of our hubs.
  • Provide you with a laptop and mobile phone, so you can work flexibly from any location across the county enabling you to be more effective and flexible in your practice.
  • We have a variety of progression opportunities including Practice Educator training, CMI accredited leadership programs and career paths into management, via our Aspiring Manager and Assistant Team Manager roles.
  • Enable you to use your experience to work innovatively with foster carers and their families to ensure our children remain safe and well cared for.
  • Locate you within an established and supportive team which includes support workers, child psychologists, ASYE’s, assessing and supervising social workers.
  • We will provide monthly reflective supervision and management feedback in a culture of learning and development.
  • You could benefit from our teaching partnership with Bournemouth University, as there are opportunities to further develop your research based practice.

 About You:

You will have evidenced experience of professional and personal development and be looking to build upon this and further your career aspirations within an innovative and truly supportive environment. 

As an HCPC registered social worker you will possess extensive post qualification experience in children’s services, ideally within either Kinship or Fostering However, the ability to carry out good quality assessments, an analytical mind, coupled with a passion and interest to join us and help us to develop our practice in a trauma informed way is essential.

It is essential that you have a proven track record in the effective supervision and support of self-employed foster carers. A knowledge of or experience trauma based practice would be advantageous.
