What are we doing for our social workers?

We will:

  • Give you the option to apply for full time (37 hours) or part time (18.5 hours) and offer flexible working options from your base office in Salisbury, eg. working from other hubs or home, working a compressed fortnight.

  • Offer attractive, modern, bright, spacious offices equipped with the latest technology.

  • Offer a variety of progression opportunities; including Practice Educator training, CMI accredited leadership programs and career paths into management.

  • Enable you to practice within a ‘one child, one worker’ journey, where as an experienced social worker you will have the opportunity to work innovatively with children, young people, care leavers and their families whilst these children are accommodated by the Local Authority.

  • Provide you with the opportunity to work with young people using a long-term relationship-based model and approach; once their permanency plan has been established.

  • Locate you within a team which includes experienced Personal Advisors with whom you will co-work in preparation and planning with young people as they transition into adulthood.

  • Support you through providing monthly management feedback and reflective supervision in a collaborative environment where innovative practice is encouraged.

  • Provide you with a laptop and mobile phone, so you can work flexibly in alternative environments; including working from home.

  • Offer an attractive rewards and relocation package, as well as the option to purchase additional holiday, use of a pool car scheme and offer free parking within the locality.

Why Wiltshire?

In July 2019 we were rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted across all categories and we are looking for bright, innovative people to help us, building upon the considerable progress we have already made, including the launch of our PAUSE, No Wrong door and Early support hub in our MASH team. Our CIC team are planning ahead to meet increasing demand, including significant investment in new positions at management, social worker and PA levels to ensure the best outcomes for our Children and Families. We have recently launched our local offer for care leavers and ‘The Leaving Care Forum’, which compliments the Children in Care Council, as we strive to increase inclusion and participation of all our looked after and care experienced young people.

About You:

You will have evidenced experience of professional and personal development and be looking to build upon this and further your career aspirations within an innovative unitary local authority. As an HCPC registered Social Worker you will possess extensive post qual experience within Children’s Services, ideally within CIC.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, as an employee you will be expected to share this.

Interviews will be held on 6th September 2019.
