Mencap in Ipswich are currently recruiting for Waking Night Support Workers who are positive, compassionate and caring and enjoy working throughout the Night!

You will be responsible and involved in the everyday life of the people that we support, making sure that they are fully involved when it comes to receiving the support that they all need and want.

The people that we support in this service have complex health needs - our Wake Night Support Workers are there to spend time with the people that we support before they go to bed, assist in helping the people that we support get into bed and perform routine checks throughout the night, and support the individuals in the morning.

Our supported living service is based in Ipswich, where we support 6 gentlemen and 4 ladies with a learning disability, across 6 flats in one cul de sac. The people we support range from 35-75 years old and have a diverse range of diagnoses and mild to complex needs. They all have different personalities and varying interests, so no two days are the same!

Our Waking Night shift runs from 22:00 - 07:00 and the service is commutable by public transport. You will be required to work some weekends and bank holidays - we do try to be flexible and plan our rota's in advance to accommodate your own commitments, but ideally you will be someone who can be as flexible as possible.

An enhanced DBS will be required for each successful candidate (Paid for by Mencap, T&Cs apply)
