Job Details

Are you a leader in API and Services Engineering? Can you nurture colleagues on the right integration standards and policies? Do you love implementing game changing functions to our products? If yes, then we may have the role for you!

As the Platform Product Owner for API and Services, you will be part of our Services and API team who provide support for integration projects and aim to reduce our dependency on third party systems. Your team is the spine of the Bank, they make sure all our technologies can communicate with each other. You and your team will lead on the strategical direction of your platform’s development that will help us create more fans!

So what would you be doing?...

• Developing roadmaps and business cases for your products

• Owning the product backlogs for the platform

• Creating a project plan and its key deliverables

• Working closely with colleagues across the bank to understand their expectations of the platform

• Overseeing the reporting, performance and status updates

• Identifying risks within the platform and solving them

• Finding ways to improve a product that delivers reliability and performance

• Maintaining a list of all the technical debts and implementing a plan on how you can resolve them

You need to be this kind of person…

• Passionate about providing unparalleled levels of service and convenience for customers

• Prepared to stick at something - we get nervous if someone has jumped from job to job

• Able to work and learn quickly in a fast paced, fun and dynamic environment

We always support colleagues to develop their skills.  But to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to do most of these wonderful things...

• It would be great if you have a degree or equivalent in an IT field such as Systems Development or Computer Science, however this is not necessary

• You will have good previous experience delivering projects and working on technology platforms or products

• It would be great if you have knowledge on developing roadmaps and business cases

• Naturally you will have amazing influencing skills to drive change and communication skills to build effective relationships

IMPORTANT FOOTNOTE;

Diverse teams really are the best teams. We know that candidates (especially women, research tells us) may be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box.  We also know that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t always doable, and while we can’t accommodate every flexible working request we are happy to be asked.  So if you are excited about working with us and think you can do much of what we are looking for but aren’t sure if you are 100% there yet… why not give it a whirl? Good luck!
