The role

We are looking for an experienced PRINCE2 Project Manager to join our Strategic Property Team in North Tyneside.

The purpose of this role is to develop and deliver projects against a suite of Business Cases within our Technical Services Partnership on time, within budget, and to specification. This will be achieved through improving the effectiveness of existing Project Teams and utilising professionally accepted project management methods. The role will be both outward client facing and involve management of multi disciplinary technical leads from across the business. Projects will predominantly relate the strategic property (estates and asset management).

We are seeking a highly motivated strategic thinker with a proven track record of business case inception and development, along with a strong ability to model different solutions.

 

Location

This role will be based in our North Tyneside Partnership. However, travelling and regular work away at client sites is expected. Regular travel to London to support our partnership in Barnet is a requirement.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Take personal responsibility for project deliverables; ensuring that rigorous quality assurance management systems are operated in line with Capita's and clients' procedures.
  • Develop new Business Cases working alongside key clients'.
  • Effectively manage project workload and be proactive in taking action to balance resources with workload requirements.
  • Coordinate the delivery of a project by ensuring that all workstreams have undertaken their agreed tasks efficiently within specified timescales at an agreed cost.
  • Support the Partnership Director in driving projects and business cases forward.

 

Essential Experience/Skills

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent.
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner accredited.
  • Experience of Business Case development.
  • Financial and options modelling expertise.
  • Experience of end to end project management (from project initiation through to closure).
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong Change Management and Stakeholder Management skills - able to understand who the project impacts and how relationships are managed.
  • Able to set target targets and manage performance to ensure that projects deliver on time and on budget.
  • Able to work under own initiative and pro-actively drive projects forward.
  • Proficient in a wide range of IT skills including Microsoft Office packages (specifically Microsoft Excel and Project).
  • Excellent analytical skills and a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficient at interrogating numerical and financial data.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.

 

Desirable Experience/Skills

  • Post-graduate experience of complex organisational change and able to creatively help clients find solutions, especially where there is lack of clarity over outcomes sought.
  • An understanding of the public sector and its challenges and constraints. Particularly the financial and political aspects of local government.
  • Good working knowledge of Waterfall and Agile Project Delivery Methodologies.
  • Experience of property (estates or assets) related projects or business cases.
