Duration: Fixed term/secondment until 31st March 2020 (with possibility of extension)

Hours: Full time - 37 hours per week (part-time working and job share considered)

About the role

An opportunity to join our client's team as their Projects and New Business Manager until 31st March 2020, has become available to work in their Hertford office as part of the Housing and Health team. There is a possibility of this period being extended.

This is an exciting time for you to join the team and develop your career as they are working on a wide range of community wellbeing and housing projects, including supporting colleagues to roll-out a number of new wellbeing hubs across the district and working with their housing company to grow its portfolio of properties.

You will be working with colleagues across the service, covering projects related to housing, environmental health, licensing matters, health and wellbeing and community safety. The role includes working closely with the Head of Housing and Health to ensure key meetings, presentations and stakeholder events are planned and delivered, as well as managing a team of project and support officers.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

- Managing efficient and effective project management and business development and support across the Housing and Health Serviced
- Identifying new business opportunities and working with colleagues on the production of business cases
- Assisting the Service Manager - Community Wellbeing and Partnerships and the Head of Housing and Health to provide robust emergency planning and safeguarding arrangements
- Providing an administrative support role specifically for the Head of Housing and Health including membership of, and the provision of support and advice to, the Service's management team

About you

This role will suit someone with excellent organisational and time management skills coupled with the ability to get buy-in from colleagues to deliver against tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will bring a wide range of skills and experience gained in the public, private and/or voluntary sectors, including:

- Experience of managing projects
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise your and your team's workloads to meet deadlines; all with a concern for order and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with colleagues on corporate projects
- An understanding of the scope for commercial thinking within a public sector setting
- Experience of producing written reports and/or briefing notes for senior managers
