Job Details

Do you want to work for a Bank who are revolutionising the entire industry? Can you drive a culture of continuous improvement? Do you love taking full ownership for delivery of projects? If yes, then we may have the role for you!

As a Lead Project Manager, you will be required to take full ownership of end-to-end delivery of your project(s). You will be leading a large project team to deliver complex projects which deliver fantastic service through world class capability. You will provide guidance and assurance to less experienced Project Managers. This role sits within our amazing Smart Growth Change team which is influential in delivering a wide range of initiatives targeted at improving the banks overall efficiency, promoting growth and scalability whilst ultimately enhancing our amazing customer experience.

So what would you be doing?...

• Leading large project teams, potentially through multiple workstreams, of direct and indirect reports to achieve project outcomes

• Setting your project up for success by establishing a realistic plan, establishing relationships with key business stakeholders

• Building and looking after a project plan to track delivery against agreed milestones as well as managing delivery risk

• Making sure change is future-proofed to meet our vision and operational adoption is taken into account

• Identifying issues and work through complex problems to keep your project team and delivery on track

• Working with Portfolio Managers to plan for cross-project dependencies

You need to be this kind of person…

• Passionate about providing unparalleled levels of service and convenience for customers

• Prepared to stick at something – we get nervous if someone has jumped from job to job

• Able to work and learn quickly in a fast paced, fun and dynamic environment

We always support colleagues to develop their skills. But to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to do most of these wonderful things…

• We need you to have experience leading high-performing business and development teams as a Project Manager, Scrum Master or IT Project Manager

• In order to be fantastic in this role, you need to have a good understanding of project management techniques and be able to tailor your delivery style using the most appropriate methodology for the project

• It would be great if you have some benefits identification and sizing experience

• You need to have a proven track-record of delivering large, complex projects across the full project lifecycle

• We need you to have great communications skills – able to inspire and motivate your team and also work closely with senior business stakeholders, keeping them abreast of project progress and working with them to ensure the project you are delivering meets their needs

IMPORTANT FOOTNOTE;

Diverse teams really are the best teams. We know that candidates (especially women, research tells us) may be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box.  We also know that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t always doable, and while we can’t accommodate every flexible working request we are happy to be asked.  So if you are excited about working with us and think you can do much of what we are looking for but aren’t sure if you are 100% there yet… why not give it a whirl? Good luck!
