Would you like to finish work each day knowing that you have made a difference?
We are looking for positive and caring Relief Support Workers to join one of our services in Borehamwood where we support three gentlemen with a learning disability on a full or part time basis.
So what do our services look like?
We have services that are full of personality, with lots of different activities and require support with accessing the community, shopping, cooking and with their independent living skills.
We have football fans, jokers, social butterflies, flower lovers harry potter fans, and one of our services has pets, too!
The people we support have created profiles about what they want from their support worker, please have a look at this on the additional details tab.
Supporting someone with their daily life is not a 9-5 job. You will need to be able to work across a range of different days and shift patterns. We realise that your quality time is important too, so your rota is prepared well in advance - Got a request, something special going on? Your manager will certainly try to help you - although, we do work on a rota basis, and you must be comfortable with shift working.
You do not need to have experience but it is essential that you share our values. As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us.
An enhanced DBS will be required for each successful candidate (Paid for by Mencap, T&Cs apply).
