Coordinator/Planner/Event Manager, Part Time, Permanent – Bury St Edmunds:
SALARY; A salary of £12,000 per annum, plus 84 hours paid holiday
HOURS; 15 hours per week, flexi working and home working
Hales Jobs are currently seeking a confident coordinator in the Bury St Edmunds area to join a friendly, supportive team, assisting in planning and organising Bury in Bloom, a prestigious event that takes place annually in the busy town.
You will need to possess excellent social skills, making you naturally a strong communicator, with the ability to prioritise a busy work schedule within strict time frames. Organisational skills are a must and previous experience in coordinating events would be beneficial, due to the nature of the role. A passion for horticulture would also be advantageous.
Responsibilities to include:
Raising sponsorship from the corporate sector, maintaining regular contact with existing sponsors
Presenting and/or writing funding applications to various parties
Increasing the campaign profile to bring in new partners
Organising hanging baskets to businesses and private individuals
Communicating and coordinating with the supplier on design of seasonal hanging baskets
Liaising with the treasurer over budgeting, generation and projects
Communicating with the local authorities, local businesses and local suppliers in order to plan and maintain elements of the event
Handling marketing and taking advantage of social media platforms
Maintaining business relationships with the local press, creating photo opportunities and pitching interview ideas to the media
Delivering bids for regional and national competitions – project management, route planning and ensuring representation from a wider community
Coordinating the volunteers involved in the event
Organising catering, engaging guest speaker, liaising with judges, devising guidelines and other project as appropriate
Attending all meetings as required
Providing reports on the event
Attending regional and national seminars, as and when required
Administration duties
