Job Details

Macquarie Infrastructure Debt Investment Solutions has an opportunity for an experienced candidate to join the team in the expanding London office.

Infrastructure Debt Investment Solutions is a leading infrastructure debt asset manager. When it launched in 2012, it was at the forefront of the development of the “infrastructure debt asset class”. Since then it has successfully invested in a wide range of infrastructure subsectors in Europe, North America and Australia and became a leader in the asset class, supported by a strong and global client base.

We are looking for an additional person in the investment-team, responsible for making infrastructure debt investments. The team is highly experienced, has a strong investment track record and demonstrated its ability adapt to industry challenges. The team works closely together with other teams and offers significant opportunities for infrastructure debt specialists in an entrepreneurial environment.

Your responsibilities will require you to:

  • undertake and review due diligence on potential investments
  • review and run sensitivities on financial models
  • assess and comment on commercial contracts
  • assist with all aspects of investment analysis and deal with internal queries on a day-to-day basis
  • assess the appropriate debt level and debt structure for the potential transaction
  • support with the negotiation of terms sheets and loan documentation
  • have responsibility for contributing to investment papers and responding to client and Investment Committee requests
  • have responsibility for aspects of ongoing portfolio management
  • take ownership of ongoing borrower relationships and assist in the assessment of borrower requests.

You will have exposure to the infrastructure and/or renewable sector and demonstrate knowledge and experience in project finance or infrastructure lending.

Your numerical and financial modelling skills partnered with your exposure to debt sizing and sculpting will be well utilised in the team.

Your credit analysis skills will be able to feed this into writing investment reports and approval presentations to senior management and investment committees.

Exposure to portfolio management duties including annual reviews, waivers and financial reporting is preferable.

You will possess outstanding interpersonal and team-working skills to build relationships with senior team members, colleagues across the Macquarie Group, borrowing clients and their advisors and with institutional investor clients. As a highly motivated and proactive individual, you will also be able to execute critical work streams, demonstrate sound business judgement and possess an analytical, pragmatic and creative approach to problem solving.

You will need to speak a European language, preferably Spanish or German. If this sounds like the right opportunity, please apply online today.

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.
