Civil Enforcement Officer
North Tyneside
£ 17,300 per annum

We are looking for Civil Enforcement Officers to patrol the streets, bus lanes and public car parks of North Tyneside. Your primary role is to encourage considerate parking by taking appropriate action against illegally parked vehicles so that other drivers can go about their daily business with minimum disruption. Your key goalsare to keep traffic flowing and to make sure that everybody who drives in North Tyneside has an equal and fair opportunity to park and go about their daily business.
 

 

This role will be based in our offices in North Tyneside.


Key Responsibilities:
 

  • To enforce waiting/loading restrictions, bus lanes and parking facilities within the borough;
  • To record and report ticket machine faults and undertake minor repairs (e.g. coin blockages, ticket slips etc), where appropriate;
  • To record and report defective regulatory signs, lines other parking management equipment;
  • Provide and maintain a high standard of customer service;
     

Essential Experience/Skills:
 

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Be able to drive
  • Be physically fit
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good general standard of education
  • Good customer service skills
     

Desirable Experience/Skills

  • Good knowledge and understanding of Highway Code;
  • Previous experience as parking enforcement officer or equivalent role.

Additional Information
 

  • 37.5 hours a week operating on a duty rota basis. The rota will operate between the hours of 8am - 10pm and include Bank Holidays and Weekends. Typically the officer would alternate between a weekly shift of 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday then 2pm - 10pm Tuesday to Saturday the following week, although this can vary to suit the operational needs of the service.
  • Annual leave - negotiable, but typically 23 days
