Looking for a Social Worker with AMHP qualification to join a team in Bath.
Part time Position 22.5 hours per week, days can be discussed during interview. 4 Month minimum with view to extend further.
Must have experience of working as an AMHP co-ordinating and carrying out Mental Health Act assessments.
Purpose of job;
Social Workers who are also Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) have a dual role. Most, but not all, will be Mental Health Social Workers. In this case the focus on both elements of the role is on people who have, or are carers of individuals who have serious mental health needs which come within the provision of current Social Services legislation and the shared eligibility criteria of the Social and Housing Services Department and the Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. Firstly, to act as part of the AMHP team and undertake Mental Health Act assessments in accordance with legislation. Secondly, under the general supervision of a Team Manager, to assess need, plan, implement and evaluate action or treatment, negotiation for and co-ordinating the application of resources and seeking modification of attitudes or behaviour required as required. Thirdly, to provide initial response to enquiries, in the form of professional advice and guidance to referrers. This may include discrete work such as joint assessments with other services
