Job Description
The Support for Learning Worker plays a key role within the modern early years environment in providing support and assistance to children with additional support needs to access the curriculum.
The main duties and responsibilities includes the provision of care and support to children whilst building positive working relationships and promoting positive behaviour. In addition, you will support and assist in the delivery of an inclusive and diverse early years service including assistance in the delivery of a high quality lunch-time experience whilst working effectively as part of the wider early years team within the establishment.
The position also includes the provision of support for the supervision and administration of medication and intimate personal care.
It is desirable that applicants hold a NC in Early Education and Childcare at SCQF Level 6 or SVQ in Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 6, or equivalent, or be able to work towards qualification. Applicants must also be eligible for membership of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
Please note the successful candidates will be required to pay for the costs associated with PVG Scheme Membership/Checks and regulatory body registration.
