As an actuary with Capita Managing Agency reporting to the Head of Reserving or Head of Capital, you will support the Chief Actuary in ensuring the delivery of regular, consistent and reliable analysis and recommendations for all areas of the business, ad hoc underwriting performance studies to improve the understanding of the current and projected financial stability and risk profile risk of the business.

Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities of job

  • To be involved in Internal Model build, on-going development, parameterization and validation of CMA's syndicates under management. Will see all aspects of the Model and work under direction of the Head of capital Modelling.

  • To be involved in quarterly GAAP and Solvency II reserving supporting the Head of Reserving. Lines of business include property, casualty and financial lines. To be involved in production of an annual Actuarial Function Report.

  • To support Risk Officer in maintaining and enhancing the risk culture at CMA and syndicates under management and support in annual cycle of reporting (ORSA, emerging risks, stress tests).

  • To support Exposure Management and other MI as required.

  • Preparing presentations, reports, valuations and quarterly updates

  • carrying out relationship management, liaising with clients such as investment managers, financial directors and external stakeholder

Job related experience, qualifications and skills

 

  • Working towards/midway through qualifications

  • Previous experience in reserving and or capital modelling.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills and the ability to explain Actuarial concepts

  • Ability to influence others without direct supervisory authority

  • Effective time management skills; able to juggle several projects / tasks and conflicting priorities within an environment of significant change

  • Good Interpersonal skills and ability to quickly form professional relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels of seniority

  • Ability to deliver presentations to key stakeholders

  • String Planning and organisational skills

  • The ability to work well under pressure in a deadline driven environment.
