An exciting new role as a PA Member Support Officer has come up working within the Democratic Service team, provide administrative/PA support to Members, and in particular the Mayoralty and the Cabinet.

Responsibilities:

To be responsible for dealing with the Mayor's correspondence and managing his/her diary, which will include vetting invitations.
To be responsible for publishing a weekly list of Mayoral engagements.
Liaise with local organisations and other bodies concerning proposed visits by the Mayor and arranging itineraries.
In consultation with the Democratic Services Manager, to organise the Civic Service, Civic Dinner and social aspects of the Annual Meeting of the Council and any approved events relating to the Mayor's Charity or the mayoralty.
Ensure that the necessary catering and hospitality requirements are met.
Monitor and advise on the budgets for the Mayoralty and civic events to avoid over expenditure.
Handle approved payments to Town Twinning organisations in connection with official events.Requirements:

Administrative experience commensurate with the requirements of the post experience gained within local government
Public Sector experience is crucial
