Network Rail is at the heart of revitalising Britain’s railway. From Crossrail – Europe’s largest civil engineering project– to investment in passenger stations and major programmes of electrification, we are involved in some of the most ambitious and diverse ventures that this country has ever seen.

Due to an increasing workload (in terms of value, volume and complexity) it’s an exciting time to join our team as we grow and develop our Asset Protection capabilities in the Eastern region.

We have a number of opportunities across project/construction management and engineering based at our four office locations.

The Asset Protection team assists external parties in the delivery of works that interface with the operational railway. Clients range from lineside neighbours through to government departments and blue chip companies.

We support the delivery of major projects by providing the interface and assurance roles for clients wishing to invest in the railway under the Open for Business programme initiatives. Current investment projects include new and enhanced stations and upgrades of existing freight lines to accommodate passenger services.

The purpose of the role is to safely and seamlessly lead and oversee the delivery of a portfolio of externally funded Outside Party and Third Party schemes, championing understanding of rail related risks and constraints to enact, and enable others to facilitate solutions that align with external client objectives whilst meeting all stakeholder requirements.  To provide support to enable Network Rail to meet its legal duty under the Railway Act and the Network Licence and drive adherence to relevant company and industry standards and processes, cascading updates and monitoring compliance.
