Position Overview

An opportunity exists for an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager to join our contract working on the rail infrastructure from London to Corby. The project is part of Network Rails key infrastructure investment plans for upgrading the Midland Mainline and includes the installation of a new line between Bedford and Kettering together with Civils interventions at various structures along the route. We're looking for an experienced individual to provide commercial management support during the ongoing construction phase of this £80 million project.

As Commercial Manager, you will be predominantly responsible for aspects of the contract related to civil engineering and structures. You will be consistently implementing best commercial practice through production of cost plans, dealing with sub-contractors, risk management and providing valuation of change. You will also be supporting the reporting requirements to both internal and external stakeholders as well as production of KPI's



What are we looking for?

To be successful in this position you will need to have 5 to 10 years quantity surveying experience within the construction industry, preferably with a Main Contractor. A proven experience in change management, cost control and management of the supply chain is required. Any experience within the rail industry would be advantageous but is not essential. Similarly, a relevant qualification or relevant body membership would be beneficial.
