Spacestor is a family owned UK office furniture manufacturer based in Hemel Hempstead, with a growing presence in global markets. As the business expands, there is a need for improved management reporting and support to the Finance Director.

 

Job Purpose:

  • Management of listed areas of Finance within the business.
  • Initiate improvements to current processes

Dimensions:

Progress review in 3 months. Probationary period 6 months.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for main entity, including P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for Office Initiative
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Development and improvement of current management accounts
  • Development of Sage reporting
  • Nominal allocation and coding for administration costs
  • Manage fixed asset, accruals and prepayment schedules (currently delegated)
  • Accounting for stock and WIP movements
  • Ensure revenue and costs are properly accounted for
  • Supporting annual audit
  • Cover for the PL and SL, where necessary
  • Full support for the FD.
  • Full support for Year End, including running reports and producing schedules, as directed by the FD.
  • Undertake ad hoc tasks as directed by the FD and Senior Management.

Nature and Scope:

The role allows the employee to make decisions within the remit of the role outlined. The Job holder should maintain communication with the FD and to refer any significant issues within the role to the FD.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Part-qualified/Qualified/QBE accountant
  • Minimum 3yrs  management accounting experience.
  • Experience of working in a project based business or manufacturing and understanding of WIP.
  • Experience of preparing management accounts
  • Experience of international trade
  • Understanding of cash flow management
  • Computer skills: SAGE Line 50 (essential), Excel (intermediate level), Word and other Microsoft Office software.
