Job Details

Under the new Artistic Director, the REACH community programme has been refreshed to respond directly to the work on our stages and the community groups we work with. The REACH Co-ordinator opens the doors of the theatre to disadvantaged groups who may or may not have had access to quality creative activities in the past. The post-holder invites groups and individuals into our London Bridge-based theatre for young audiences to see shows and engage with bespoke theatre projects, curated by the Artistic Director, as well as building friendships and partnerships out in the wider community to ensure that our theatre is truly part of London life.

The post-holder has a vital part to play in understanding the Unicorn’s civic role, matching different target groups to our cultural activities, identifying where can have a real impact, and supporting the Artistic Director in devising work that is of integrity and value to each group. The REACH Co-ordinator ensures that participants are well looked after throughout each project, that their needs are well served by the Unicorn’s activities, and that each individual is introduced to future projects and offers at the theatre and beyond.

Artists are at the heart of the work, and linked to the participants through the REACH Co-ordinator.  The Co-ordinator is supported by the Producing team in contracting artists and companies, and works to the Artistic Director’s vision and strategy to deliver the programme. The post-holder will also work closely with the fundraising team and other stakeholders to evaluate the programme, constantly building on success, and helping build a picture of the Unicorn’s social impact.
