Our client is recruiting for motivated, enthusiastic and positive thinking Support Workers to join the team in a supported living service at Patrick Court in Burton Latimer.

Location: Burton Latimer

Salary: £19,088 pa (£9.92ph) + enhancements for Night Working and sleep-ins

Hours: 37 hours per week, Full Time, over different shift patterns

Closing Date: 31st October 2019

About the role of Support Worker:

Our client is one of the largest locally based housing organisations in the East Midlands. Across the region they manage over 9,000 homes; house more than 15,000 tenants; provide over 1,500 bed spaces for people with support/care needs, in over 250 properties; and provide more than 500,000 hours of care and support each year.

Patrick Court is rated “outstanding” by CQC and is a project for adults with autism and learning disabilities. They are looking for caring and motivated Support Workers to join their dedicated team in Burton Latimer.

Support provided to these adults will be aimed at helping them live independently and do the same things you would do in everyday life; this could be anything from domestic tasks and personal care to accessing social/leisure activities. Although the role is challenging, it is highly rewarding at the same time as the little things you do every day will have life-changing results for the people you support.

Please note that due to the needs of the customers, there may be an element of moving and handling involved in the role; as such, you will need to be willing and able to undertake these duties.

About you:

As one of our client’s highly valued Support Workers, you will provide a person-centred approach to service users, devising and implementing individual care and/or support plans with risk assessments to promote independence.

An exceptional communicator, you will liaise effectively with both internal and external agencies to ensure a ‘joined up’ approach. A sense of humour is always a great asset in this job!

Our ideal candidate will be a positive and proactive team player who is determined to make a difference in a vulnerable person's life. Ideally you will have experience of supporting people with Autism and/learning disabilities, you will be resilient and confident, able to demonstrate a robust and safe approach to dealing with challenging/complex behaviours.

A full UK driving licence is required along with a flexible approach to working hours to meet the demands of the role.
