Trainee Payroll Officer (including Customer Service duties one day a week) – Full training is provided for both aspects. Part Time, Permanent. 30 hours per week.
Offering full ongoing training, flexible working hours, an exciting varied role, and a friendly working environment, we are looking for a friendly numbers driven individual with an interest in Accounting or Bookkeeping who can provide outstanding customer service.
Equal Lives is a user led disabled persons organisation based in Framingham Pigot, Norwich that is dedicated to making service users voices heard, supporting people to empower themselves to live independent and fulfilled lives.
This is an exciting and varied finance role that will consist of Payroll duties for the most part of the week with the brilliant opportunity to work in our advice team one day a week providing disabled people with information and advice.
This is a Payroll based role, with customer service assistance duties one day a week.
Experience is not necessary as full training will be provided.
Role responsibilities for the Trainee Payroll Officer:
The main duty for this varied finance role is Payroll and includes Customer Service assistance one day a week. Full training is provided for both aspects.
Payroll:
Processing small payrolls on Sage 50, and invoices on Sage 200, full finance training provided
Dealing with payroll queries
Processing payments and adjustments
Assisting finance team with general admin
Customer Service:
Respond to and resolve calls and web-based enquiries i.e. basic welfare benefit advice, tax issues, problems with timesheets
Provide a basic level of information and advice where able
Identify when to seek further advice
Take messages and referrals for colleagues
Make general courtesy calls to service users
Send out information and advice factsheets or toolkits to meet people’s needs and access requirements
Assist in coordinating room bookings, rotas, cover arrangements
Requirements for the Trainee Payroll Officer:
An interest in/knowledge of payroll/accounts
Numbers driven, logical and great attention to detail
Friendly, enthusiastic and positive
Able to deliver excellent customer service
Good interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
Ability to prioritise and manage time well
A genuine interest to learn
