Amey Consulting are working on various intricate and challenging Rail design projects throughout the UK, including Wales and Borders, TRU, Midland Mainline, and Crossrail. What is the purpose of this role?

A HSEQ Advisor is required to report directly into the Rail Consulting Central Account Director and provide support across a wide range of HSEQ activities. This role will also provide support to our Strategic Consulting business.



What will this role involve?

General

  • Acting as a point of contact for all HSEQ matters within Rail Consulting Central Region and Strategic Consulting
  • Liaising with HSEQ Business Partner and central team
  • Managing and controlling risk
  • Reporting to the Account Director
  • Input into bids as required
  • Ensure ISPs are in place (Integrated Site Plans) for all locations
  • Ensure the IAP (Integrated Account Plan) is in use for all design activity
  • Ensure Amey, Network Rail and other client standards are understood and adhered to
  • Client liaison on all HSEQ matters

Health

  • Promotion of Health & Wellbeing initiatives across the rail central region team (170+staff)
  • Identifying areas of concern and supporting line managers

Safety

  • Acting as BUIC (Business Unit Incident Coordinator) for North West, Midlands, Anglia and the South East
  • Ensure all offices comply with current Health & Safety legislation
  • Promote close call reporting and action close out
  • Perform/support site inspections and Vfl tours
  • Engaging with supply chain to ensure all safety obligations are met
  • PDSW implementation and auditing SWP's

Environmental

  • Ensure all projects are meeting environmental obligations
  • Support to project teams with Environmental issues

Quality

  • Supporting and auditing CDM/CSM compliance
  • Ensuring EMMa (Engineering Management manual) is embedded and in use across all projects
  • Audits and monitoring of project activities
  • Producing and Monitoring Quality KPIs
  • Identifying areas where 'lean principals' can be applied



What are we looking for?

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health OR NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent (Preferable)
  • You will have the ability to use a wide range of techniques to influence change at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong understanding of safety management systems and H&S legislations.
  • Excellent communicator with a natural ability for building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Tech IOSH
  • Graduate IOSH (Preferable)
  • PTS (Preferable)
  • Rail experience (Preferable)
