We have a fantastic opportunity for a hardworking and dedicated individual to work on priority initiatives sought at delivering major new regulatory requirements, initially within Capital Requirements Directive (CRD) regulation Programme on the Stress Testing Data Framework (STDF) Strategic project.

About the role

As a Business Analyst you'll initially focus on the detailed design of the strategic solution for STDF building on the requirements collected from partners to address current problems as well as future regulatory challenges. The strategic solution spans data capture through validation, reconciliation and governance through to the technical elements such as XBRL conversion and secure file transfer. Throughout the project lifecycle, you'll be a key facilitator to the definition and documentation of business and technical design, liaising with IT for system build activities and supporting all phases of testing. As a key member of the business analysis team, you'll also support key activities including:

  • Supporting the lead business analyst in crafting the analysis approach
  • Requirements elicitation and analysis against regulations with stakeholders
  • Solution assessment, design, testing and validation, data analysis and modelling
  • Target operating model and control framework design and documentation

In this role, we'll also provide opportunity to further develop your talent in an encouraging and structured environment, taking a lead role among other analysts and specialists in the team. Our team is part of Group Transformation and we're exploring the benefits of agile delivery methodologies. There may be ongoing opportunities to widen and stretch your capability, in Credit Risk, Market Risk, ALM, Finance and Capital Reporting. What you'll also be involved in

  • Performing analysis across data, process, reporting and controls including reconciliations and validations to identify value strategic solutions options to present to partners
  • Working with the business architects and application owners to agree on strategic roadmap for STDF and the wider group strategic vision
  • Completing a design documentation supporting the build of IT system and champion deliveries
  • Liaising with technical colleagues to ensure requirements are clearly understood, workshop facilitation and partner engagement
  • Identification, mitigation and raising critical issue of risks and issues
  • Driving delivery of appropriate solutions and sharing of standard methodology within practice pool

The ideal skills and background we're looking for…

  • Strong experience in a Financial Services change environment or a consultancy, primarily as a Data / Business Analyst or Data warehousing within a banking environment
  • Validated experience in business analysis, preferably in the delivery of regulatory change projects
  • A confident authoritative user of Excel (Advanced Formulas, Data Connections/Queries, Pivot Tables), Access, Visio, MS Project etc. and experience in VBA development.
  • Business improvement and bank stress testing experience
  • Experience of working within a large project that has a high degree of complexity and a large number of internal (within risk) and external (across Group or third parties) partners
  • Balance of strong critical thinking and analytical capability, together with a creative attitude

We'll also look for someone with outstanding attention to detail, a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable in working to deadlines and good self-management skills!

…and nice to have skills and experience background

  • Experience of Lloyds Banking Group systems and architecture
  • Knowledge of prudential regulatory rules such as STDF, CRD IV, COREP, Pillar 3 etc.
  • Experience with IBM TM1 or similar reporting tools; XBRL based submissions; knowledge or experience of BCBS-239
  • Finance/Risk or Business Analysis qualification
  • Experience of delivery in an agile environment
