We are looking for a Family Fitness and Sports Project Manager to join the Sport England funded Families Fund Project. This is an amazing and unique role aimed to raise to improve the health and fitness of children being supported by the domestic abuse services across London, including those living in refuges.

Position: Family Fitness and Sports Project Manager

Location: Head Office/London Bridge

Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday (flexible working)

Contract: Maternity Cover. The staff member is due to return to work on 20 November 2020 as the staff member is required to give 8 weeks’ notice of their return, the above return date may be brought forward or extended.

Salary: £35,496 per annum

The Families Fund Project is structured around ensuring mothers take part in physical activity with their children so that children see their mothers modelling positive behaviour. This will involve engaging with service users and staff to co-design activities, leading on all aspects of the volunteering recruitment and support and paid sessional staff to deliver activities.

Activities can be anything that will increase heart rate for a significant period, this can mean formal sport and could also mean taking part in active play in the local park, Zumba or cycling. We welcome applications from candidates with lived experience.

The Role

As the Family Fitness and Sports Project Manager, you will develop the existing draft implementation plan for project into an effective plan that can be implemented, meeting impact targets agreed with Sport England.

This role sits within the volunteering team as a key part of the role is engaging qualified sports and fitness coaches in delivery of activities as volunteers.

About you

The Family Fitness and Sports Project Manager will:

 

  • Have Experience and/or qualification in project management.
  • Have an understanding of good practice in safeguarding vulnerable children and adults.
  • Have previous experience of managing or co-ordinating sports/fitness programmes engaging families or children.
  • Have experience of collecting and recording data.
  • Have experience of providing narrative reports and financial reports to funders.
  • Confident in delivering training to professionals, staff and volunteers.

 

An understanding of child health and fitness would also be an advantage.
