Our client is committed to healthy living, youth development and social responsibility and the role of Residential Social Care Worker is a great opportunity to join a workplace that lives by its core values of Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Caring.

The residential children’s care homes are just that; homes. They run a small, yet growing number of 2 – 4 bed homes across Nottinghamshire for children and young people aged 8 – 18.

About the Role

Creating a warm, nurturing environment where the young people can develop and thrive, you will work to a set of Core Values, Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. This is something that is shared with children and young people, and it’s also reflected in the way the organisation work as a team and wider organisation. The dedicated Children’s Service department is an incredible team to be a part of, with staff encouraged to develop and progress within their careers and rewarded for their work with a variety of staff benefits.

The role of Residential Social Care Worker covers a 24/7 service, so the shifts include days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays and inclusion in the on-call rota. Some lone working will be required. Casual / Bank roles also available. They do offer additional payments for sleep ins.

About You

Ideally the Residential Social Care Worker would have a Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce, however you will be supported to achieve this mandatory qualification if you demonstrate a genuine desire and ability to support young people with challenging and complex needs. An understanding of working in a regulated or residential setting would be advantageous, as well as the skills to safeguard children whilst helping support their emotional wellbeing.

If you have experience in care (adult or children’s), social work, psychology, youth work or sports coaching, that would be advantageous but not essential.

This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check (which our client will pay for) and registration with the DBS Update Service.

Other roles you may have experience of include Social Care Worker, Youth Worker, Youth Social Care, Youth Residential, Residential Care, Social Care.
