Job Details

About us:
You may know we operate on the high street, in rail and bus stations, airports, hospitals, universities and workplaces. But did you know we've been around since 1792 and have 14,000 employees globally and have consistently outperformed other major retailers over the past ten years? We continue to grow by putting our customers first and have a strong culture of innovation and entrepreneurial ism. At WHSmith we love progressing our people, so there's no limit to where your career can go!

What you'll do:
Based in our Swindon Head Office, the main purpose of this role will be to support the Service Delivery Team within End User Computing in the management of supplier and business as usual service delivery across our estate and head office projects.

You will be responsible for ensuring store and head office colleagues are receiving the appropriate level of service through liaison with the third party service suppliers.

The next step is expert analysis and recommendations on system improvements. The bigger the difference you make, the brighter the future will look.

What we're looking for:
We are looking for someone who ideally comes from a retail operational background who has a strong understanding of IT processes and is keen to work within IT. You should be a real people person who can build relationships across the business, with clear communication skills at all levels. You will have excellent stakeholder management skills including getting the best from our outside partners, along with being highly organised and working with your own initiative to drive to get results.

What's in it for you:
Our entire business depends on high-performing IT: new store openings, eCommerce, overseas growth - the list goes on and on. It means your expertise could benefit almost any function, brand or project, giving you ample opportunity to shout "I helped do that!" What's more, you'll be encouraged to share your thinking and to look beyond IT. You can also expect some brilliant rewards, including: Annual bonus, 24 days' holiday plus a day off for your birthday, pension, store discounts, early 4pm finish on a Friday, training and development opportunities, plus much more…

Company

WHSmith started in 1792 with a small news vendor in Little Grosvenor Street, London, followed by the opening of our first bookstall in Euston Station in 1848. We quickly established ourselves as the favoured newsagent, stationers and bookseller opening stores across the UK. From this point on, there has been no looking back.
