The Legacy Corporation is responsible for delivering one of the most important Olympic legacy promises made in the original London 2012 Games bid. This pledge concerns the physical legacy of the Games – the long-term planning, development, management and maintenance of the Park. We are a Mayoral Development Corporation and therefore directly accountable to Londoners through the Mayor of London.

East Bank is an ambitious £1.1 billion development in the heart of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to create a new powerhouse for innovation, creativity and learning. It is a unique collaboration between world-leading universities, arts and culture institution that opens up opportunities for everyone who visits, lives and works in east London.

The Legacy Corporation is leading the delivery of Stratford Waterfront - the home of new sites for Sadler’s Wells, BBC Music, the V&A in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution, as well as University of the Arts London's London College of Fashion.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and exceptional Senior Project Assurance Manager to provide assurance that the Stratford Waterfront project is on track to be delivered on time, cost and quality, with particular focus on schedule performance; coordination with other second line assurance activities; change management; and the overall project assurance reporting to the East Bank Risk and Assurance Board and Legacy Corporation Executive.

Working in partnership with other members of the Finance, Commercial and Corporate Services directorate, the Senior Project Assurance Manager will:

  • Lead on monthly Stratford Waterfront project assurance reporting, coordinating input from other second line assurance activities (including finance, commercial, procurement) to provide comprehensive, timely and accurate reporting including monthly flash reports and the Stratford Waterfront section of the East Bank programme assurance report and work closely with the Senior Programme Assurance Manager who leads on the delivery of the East Bank programme assurance report
  • Lead on delivery of schedule assurance to ensure that the project schedule is robust and deliverable, and provide assurance that schedule risk is being managed effectively including quantified schedule risk analysis.
  • Lead on the monthly assurance update on schedule performance including assurance that impact of change on schedule is assessed accurately and key schedule risks and dependencies are understood and reported on.
  • Co-ordinate second line assurance of change requests and chair Pre-Change Meetings as required.

The Person

Knowledge and Experience

For this opportunity we would be looking for someone with a relevant degree or someone who can demonstrate the equivalent in experience. The successful candidate must have senior experience in a complex, multi-disciplinary project in infrastructure or construction environment, knowledge of the principles and concepts of schedule management and demonstrable experience of implementing and/or assuring these principles in a similar role, as well as knowledge of the principles and concepts of assurance, programme, project and risk management. Experience of working in, or for, public sector bodies is desirable and an understanding of the governance principles and legal framework that the Legacy Corporation operates within would be advantageous.

 Skills and Abilities

We are looking for a team player who has ability to work with stakeholders at all levels, in constructively challenging and contributing to the attainment of the project goals. You will have excellent report writing, communication and analytical skills and be able to summarise complex issues succinctly and accurately. Delivery focused, you will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi task and prioritise your own and others’ workloads under pressure to meet deadlines when required.

If you would like the opportunity to work on this exciting project and you have the passion and commitment to pro-actively drive Project Assurance forward then we look forward to hearing from you
