The Role

Willmott Dixon is seeking an Environmental Policy and Process Manager to join our award winning Re-Thinking team. The role is based at our Head Office in Letchworth and supports local offices across England and Wales which make up the Willmott Dixon Group.

This role is responsible for the developing and maintaining the company's sustainability and environmental systems and processes in line with the Sustainable Development Strategy and to maintain our ISO14001:2015 certification, as well as playing a key role in performance improvement.


The Project

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing environmental strategy, policy, targets and procedures for the WD Group and its operating companies in line with the Sustainable Development Strategy.
  • Working throughout the company to embed environmental requirements and procedures within the company's Quality Management System and as part of our ISO14001 and ISO45001 certified Risk Management System.
  • Driving the implementation of operational policies and procedures to enable meeting our ambitious new targets.


Essential and Desirable Criteria

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge and proven experience in Environmental management systems and environmental and sustainability policy and legislation.

In addition they will be able to work on several projects concurrently at both a strategic legislative and policy level whilst being able to accurately analyse detailed numerical data using well developed Excel skills. They will be a self-starter able to demonstrate high levels of initiative, tenacity and self-motivation and be comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy. With experience of successfully embedding change in a large matrix-managed organisation they will also have excellent organisational, communication and written skills.

Essential criteria:

  • Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC / NVQ4 etc).
  • Numerate with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Desirable criteria:

  • Degree in an environmental or related subject
  • Membership of relevant professional body
  • Valid driving licence
  • CSCS card
