The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) is a world leading hydrographic and marine geospatial software and data solutions agency based in award winning offices in Taunton, Somerset. We have a number of exciting opportunities for C# .Net, Python, and Javascript Software Developers to join our defence team, crafting quality code. These career defining roles present the opportunity for you to challenge yourself across multiple projects, which make a real direct impact in maritime navigation, safety, security and marine development around the UK and worldwide.

Depending on your experience and skill set, you will join the team as either a Software Developer, Senior Software Developer or an Expert Developer. Working as part of a highly supportive and collaborative agile team, you will:

  • Design and craft software solutions, including unit testing and pair programming.
  • Use automated testing and deployment to build and support a continuous delivery environment.
  • Collaborate with others in the development community, identifying good practices we can adopt and sharing our experiences.
  • Share knowledge of tools and techniques with the wider team, both developer and non-developers.
  • Continually develop your own skills as part of a programme of continuous professional development.
  • Take part in the support of applications and platforms.

What we are looking for

For these posts we are looking for various levels of commercial experience in at least two of the following: C# .Net, Python, or Javascript. For the more experienced posts we will also be looking for leadership expertise.
