Would you like to finish work each day knowing that you have made a difference?

We are currently looking to expand our team of dedicated support workers who are based in Bordon where we support adults who live in their own apartments. Your support is essential to help them live as independently as possible.

This is a hugely rewarding role that will not only make you feel proud to support someone with everything associated with moving into a new home, but also to be part of such a memorable time for them. Together, you will be building new friendships, activities and opportunities within the local community, and beyond. You will be seeking out their hobbies, interests and passions and creating some fantastic memories along the way.

If you consider yourself to be reliable, enthusiastic and forward thinking, we would like you to consider joining us as a Support Worker for people with a learning disability. You must be able to demonstrate a real commitment to Mencap and the work we do alongside the wonderful people we support.

We are looking for people with a ‘can-do’ attitude who are strongly motivated, outgoing, caring and have a calm demeanor when needed. As well as our award winning Induction programme, you will receive bespoke training for this service, covering a number of specific skills.

Previous experience within the learning disability field is not necessary, and we aim to provide consistent, positive support throughout.

We have a variety of different hours available, including part-time and full-time, as well as sleep-ins; all of which are permanent contracted positions. There are also flexible non-contracted relief hours available if this suits your availability better.

Supporting someone with their daily life is not a 9-5 job. You will need to be able to work flexibly across a range of different shift patterns, including various day shifts, evenings’ weekends and some sleep-in shifts. We realise that your quality time is important too, so your rota will be prepared well in advance – Got a request, something special going on? Your manager will certainly try to help you meet it.

Enhanced DBS is required for each successful candidate, which is paid for by Mencap

If you feel that this would be the ideal job for you, then we would love to hear from you!

As well as knowing that what we do is making a positive difference to people’s lives, you will receive fair pay and have access to a wide range of rewards and benefits as one of our employees.
