Talkback has been working with people with a learning disability since 1998, aiming to achieve choice, opportunity and respect. Talkback is user led and knows what life is like when you have a learning disability. We are currently recruiting for: A part time Learning Disability Project Worker - £18700 - £19200 p.a. (pro rata) A three day/week role No shift work or evening/weekend work Due to expansion, we would like to recruit an additional part time Project Worker – Learning Assistant to owrk 3 days a week to deliver a range of services to our members with learning disability and/or autism. Within the Equip Project, you will be working closely with local Further Education colleges by supporting young people, one to one, towards their education provision. Other project activities include gardening and allotment groups (some of which are based in National Trust properties), social and life skills training, a men’s independence group, travel training, a drama group which puts on regular shows, a recycling and tools workshop, a creative media group and a group working with animals. You will work at our High Wycombe and Aylesbury buildings, plus in local colleges and out in the community. You will work alongside people with a learning disability or autism to meet their individual needs also support young people with their families to achieve positive outcomes. To succeed you will be able to work both as part of a team and independently and have a 'can do' attitude. You will need to have good communication skills and an understanding of both self-advocacy and inclusion. We can teach you all you need to know, you just need to have the passion and care.
