A fantastic contract opportunity has arisen for a Power BI Developer to work within a funded start-up, currently in the process of building a B2B data intelligence platform. The company work within the online gambling space so any previous experience within the industry would be advantageous but not essential. The company are leaders in supporting diversity and inclusion and are a family friendly employer.

This is a full-time, contract opportunity can be worked flexibly. Offices are based in Angel, Islington and homeworking is encouraged. Candidates would be expected to be present in the office for around 2 – 3 days per week and the client are happy to assess the amount of office time needed case-by-case for individual candidates. They also encourage applications from candidates looking to condense their working week over 4 days.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to elicit their dashboard and visualisation needs
• Create clear documentation on requirements
• Create mock ups of intended solutions, and agree with stakeholders pre –development
• Design and build data structures to support these requirements
• Deliver Power BI products at pace to meet these needs, using existing prototypes where appropriate
• Proactively engage with stakeholders during the development cycle, such that they have full oversight on progress, and make frequent development prototypes available to them (be prepared to evolve requirements based on changing needs, and document appropriately)
• Design and develop to allow repeatability, with strong documentation as standard
• Work with analysts and data scientists to develop visualisations of modelling and analytics outputs

Knowledge, Expertise and Qualifications

•            Degree in mathematics, statistics, or similar.

•            Expert user of Power BI (including expert command of DAX)

•            Experienced in creating SSAS models

•            Expert in SQL

•            Experienced in gathering and documenting stakeholder requirements

•            Experienced in documenting Power BI report/dashboard specifications for IT support teams

•            Experienced in using other visualisation tools {e.g. tableau, r shiny, spotfire etc.)

•            Any knowledge of PySpark or use of Databricks and advantage, but not a requirement
