Data Protection Officer (Part Time), (Full Time working maybe available)
Based Sevenoaks
Role Overview:
Seeking an experienced Data Protection Officer to join our client who is a fast growing Fin-Tech business focused upon motor finance.
The role reports to the Compliance Team Manager, and will be responsible for monitoring the compliance and data practices internally to ensure the business is compliant with the applicable requirements under the DPA 2018 and relevant national legislation.
The position will also be accountable for advising on, and where required, carrying out staff training, data protection impact assessments and internal audits. The DPO will be the primary contact for supervisory authorities and individuals whose data is processed by our client.
Skills & Experience:
Demonstrable experience within a compliance, legal, audit and/or risk function, with recent experience in privacy compliance.
Hold at least one data protection and/or privacy certification, such as CIPP, CIPT, CIPM, ISEB
Good educational background with information technology programming and project management qualifications desirable.
Graduate or post-graduate qualification
Experience in working in an FCA regulated industry, combined with current knowledge of the regulations.
Strong knowledge of EU data privacy and data protection regulation, and a good understanding of other major privacy frameworks and evolving legislation.
Familiarity with privacy and security risk assessment and best practices, privacy certifications/seals and information security standards certifications.
Sound understanding of and familiarity with information technology programming and infrastructure, and information security practices and audits.
Experience in developing policy and compliance training
