My client is a thriving and growing organisation based in Taunton. They are a long standing business who multiple facets to their organisation who are changing with the times.

We are seeking a HR and People Development Manager to join their team on a part time, permanent basis. The salary is £35,000 (FTE) plus benefits. The working hours are 21 hours a week and these can be worked across three days or more.

The role is working in a buoyant and fun team environment based in an fantastic working location.

The successful candidate will ideally be CIPD Level 5 qualified and have a good generalist HR background and interest in talent development.

The role

The purpose of the role is to support the senior leadership team and provide management of the day to day HR function. You will be required to develop positive and supportive relationships with all internal and external customers and provide them with an excellent HR service. In addition, you will develop the talent pool within the organisation ensuring people reach their full potential. 

Duties include;

  • Design, contribute and implement the HR strategy to meet business goals
  • To ensure the effective recruitment, welfare, motivation and development of personnel
  • Providing employee relations advice to managers and employees in line with legislation and internal policies and procedures
  • Pro-actively identify performance issues and recommend a best practice approach and provide support as appropriate
  • Review policies and procedures in line with best practice
  • Support Senior Managers and help guide them through HR queries
  • Deliver relevant training solutions to meet the needs of the business
  • Liaise with Payroll Manager to prepare and validate monthly payroll
  • Other general HR duties as and when required

The successful candidate must have;

  • CIPD Level 5 or willingness to work towards
  • Proven generalist HR experience and good understanding of HR practices
  • Experience of administering HR systems
  • Ability to build strong business relationships
  • High attention to detail and organisation skills
  • Ability to work with confidential information in a trustworthy manner
  • Flexibility and proactive approach

You will be working in a busy and friendly open plan office in excellent surroundings.
