Change Manager - Flexible Working Available

Employer
Soho House
Location
London (Greater)
Salary
£Competitive
Closing date
20 Dec 2019

Soho House was founded in 1995 as a group of private members' clubs aimed primarily at those within the arts and media sectors. The company has expanded its reach and today operates 24 clubs, hotels, restaurants, spas, cinemas across Europe, North America and Asia.

Unlike its competitors, Soho House is based on a “live-work-play-sleep” concept, in which members and guests can use the facilities for both work and leisure simultaneously. In addition to hospitality spaces, Soho House operates numerous other brands including the Cowshed spa business and product line, the shared workspace Soho Works, and online retailer Soho Home, which enables members to buy homewares and furnishings used in clubs.

The business is expanding rapidly, and this is a fantastic opportunity to join the digital product team for a world-leading brand, looking to use the latest technologies across mobile, web, software and AI/Machine learning to firmly establish digital as being at the very heart of the business.

As a Change Manager, you’ll help the Head of Product deliver an ambitious and exciting roadmap for the year ahead and beyond.

To do this, we want minds who are eager to be a major part of helping to both build great products and great teams through collaboration and change processes. Alongside this you will be comfortable in a changing environment as the business pushes ahead with its digital strategy in an ever changing world. We need someone who has empathy, can listen and understand stakeholders and their concerns.

The Role:

The Change Manager will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time and in budget. They will do this by focusing predominantly on the people side of change, rather than projects, but also changes to business processes, systems and teams. The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage across Soho House stakeholders. The Change Manager will ensure each initiative is effectively delivered with clear co-ordinated change management plans. All changes need to be sufficiently prepared for the new ways of working/processes and may require varying levels of support while transition takes place

The Change Manger needs to provide input to change and communication strategy, develop associated plans and be hands-on in implementing them. This would mean working closely with digital and IT teams to understand the solution and with operations teams to implement the change. It’s a mid-senior role but definitely a hands-on one. They will receive support from the wider team (product, engineering, IT) but need to be driven to be involved in the teams as well as patient and adaptable on the operations side.

Requirements

Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for delivery of change management plans and clear reasons for the change in line with the digital strategy and roadmap
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to embed change and identify what changes, processes and procedures are needed to achieve results.
  • Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities
  • Create a framework for the change to take place with minimal disruption
  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance and balance conflicting views to create a clear and agreed plan
  • Identify any training or new tools that are required to enable change across the business
  • Support with clear communication strategy for change and support documentation where required
  • Plan workshops to show clearly what will happen and when and the support network in place
  • Assess impacts of any change and highlight risks to any roadmaps/timescales in place across the business and prepare risk mitigation tactics
  • Ensure business stability through times of change whilst teams get up to speed
  • Lead effective ways of working across stakeholder groups
  • Reporting on new processes, their timescales, risk and outcomes and clearly demonstrate the improvements with data

Your skills:

  • Resilient with a forward looking holistic approach
  • Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle

Immediate priorities:

  • Change management for new processes across Digital and Operations
  • New processes across Digital and Memberships
  • Projects include House Pay, Dotcom, Works but with a wider view to support the wider roadmap

These are the qualities we are looking for in our Change Manager at Soho House because these are the skills required to drive an ambitious roadmap for 2020 and beyond. Digital will impact change across all levels of the business and needs someone who can liaise with those stakeholders to make change happen. That change is required to enable the roadmap to be delivered. Soho House has a unique clientele and they have high expectations, so we need to iterate fast and keep up with satisfying their appetites for new features, useful tools and services to engage them with the brand and this needs changes across the business to enable this to happen.
