This dynamic privately owned Property Management business in North London has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper with a Property or Accountancy Practice background, to join its team. Someone with a sole charge bookkeeping background in a small business will also be considered. There is flexibility to work either 4 days a week (with Friday’s off) or 10-4 over 5 days. Reporting to the Directors, the role will be responsible for all round accounts and Bookkeeping using Excel and Xero. Duties include:

  • Raising rent demand for both rents and service charges and recording payments on the system
  • Double Entry Bookkeeping
  • Banking and posting payments to various tenants/landlords’ accounts
  • Logging all BACS payments to tenants/landlords’ accounts
  • Preparing service charge accounts & rental statements for landlords.
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • VAT Returns
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
  • Journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Preparing ground rent and service charge invoices for all of the units
  • Month end financial reporting 
  • Reviewing month-end reviews including VAT, bank reconciliations and management reports
  • Setting up new property and tenant information on the system
  • Set-up new clients & properties on property management system and general ledger

This is a challenging part time role in a busy office; therefore, it is important to remain calm under pressure. The successful candidate will:   ·         

Be looking to work either 4 days a week (with Fridays off) or 10-4 five days a week ·        

 Ideally have a background in a property business or accountancy practice. If not, someone with a sole charge bookkeeping background in a small business will be considered. ·         

Must be a proficient user of account software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks ·         

Be comfortable taking on responsibility and have an ability to communicate confidently with accountants and non-accountants.
